Head coaches must attend coaches training, submit a background check, prepare, organize and supervise two weekly lessons, attend the end-of-season 5K to run and cheer on your girls, and understand and believe in the mission of GOTR. Head coaches are females ages 21 and older. You don't have to be a runner to be a head coach! This is a 4-5 hours per week commitment for the 10-week season. Our Fall season begins the week of September 3 and ends with our Fall 5k on November 10. Learn more about coaching and how to apply here.
Assistant coaches must attend coaches training, assist the Head Coach at a GOTR program site, attend weekly lessons, attend the end-of-season 5K to run and cheer on your girls, and understand and believe in the mission of GOTR. Assistant coaches are females or males ages 18 and older. You don't have to be a runner to be an assistant coach! This is a 2-4 hours per week commitment for the 10-week season. Learn more about coaching and how to apply here.
Running buddies support and celebrate a girl and her accomplishments by joining her for the practice 5K (one afternoon in April, the day varying by school) and the final 5k. All Running Buddies must register for the 5k. (Note that fee waivers are available if you are unable to pay the registration fee; contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request one) If you would like us to assign you a girl to run with, you must be female, age 18+, and submit a background check.
Help assist with planning many of the fun things that make Girls on the Run so fantastic, such as our 10-year anniversary celebration, our LUNAFEST film festival fundraiser and silent auction each spring, and our 5k end-of-season celebrations each fall and spring! Email email@example.com for more information.
