Partner Spotlight: MidwestOne

Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa is incredibly grateful to have MidwestOne as one of our longest standing supporters. We were fortunate to be able to talk with Jenny Olson, Second Vice President, Community Engagement at MidwestOne, and a first-time Girls on the Run coach, who shared a little bit about why MidwestOne continues to work with GOTREI: "We want to support the things our employees naturally want to be involved with.”

MidwestOne started their GOTR journey six years ago with a partnership at Alexander Elementary school in Iowa City. The company already had a mentoring relationship with Alexander, and so when offered the chance to sponsor a Girls on the Run team, MidwestOne enthusiastically accepted.

Since 2018, MidwestOne has sponsored 55 girls in the Alexander team, and 88 girls overall! Throughout their years of sponsorship, they have also been involved in coaching– “Youth mentoring and youth in our community has always been a focus of our giving and our volunteer efforts.” Some of their employees have even served on the Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa board.

MidwestOne as a company believes in “pursue[ing] success for our neighbors, and [...] support[ing] organizations that create opportunities in our communities.” We are thrilled to align with these values, and thankful that MidwestOne has chosen to help girls become the best versions of themselves with GOTREI.

Once again, thank you to MidwestOne and Jenny Olson!
